3. Intellectual Property
All architectural designs, drawings, specifications, and creative work remain the intellectual property of Makespace Studio. Upon full payment, you receive a license to use these plans solely for the construction of your specific project. You cannot reproduce, modify, or reuse the designs for other projects without our written consent. We retain the right to showcase the work in our portfolio and use it for marketing purposes. This is standard architectural practice and protects both the integrity of the design and our professional work.
4. Payment Structure
Project fees follow a phased payment schedule aligned with key milestones. We typically structure this as an upfront deposit, progress payments tied to deliverables, and a final payment upon completion. Every invoice is clear about what you're paying for. Late payments affect project timelines—we'll pause work if accounts go beyond agreed terms.
5. Timeline & Communication
Realistic timelines depend on your responsiveness and decision-making as much as our design work. We establish project schedules with built-in review periods for your feedback. You'll have a dedicated point of contact, and we communicate through scheduled check-ins plus ad-hoc updates as needed. Clear communication keeps projects on track.
6. Liability
We provide professional services with the skill and care you'd expect from experienced architects. Our liability is limited to the fees paid for your specific project. We carry professional indemnity insurance, and we recommend you maintain your own coverage appropriate to your project scale. We're not responsible for contractor execution or third-party decisions outside our scope.
